The quality and training of instructors is
unsurpassed. Children of the Sea has consistently shown a
commitment to teach my children how to swim and more importantly,
teach them water safety. Simultaneously, they have made it
FUN!
We have used the safety skills, specifically
U-Turns, on two occasions. Once with each of my children at a
very young age. My older child was walking close to a pool
fully clothed at the age of four when he fell in. He
immediately did a U-Turn and grabbed for the side of the pool.
He was surprised, but fine and proud he had remembered what to do.
My daughter at the age of three had a similar experience this summer
with the same result, a successful U-Turn. She forgot she had
removed her armbands and jumped into the deep end. She
experienced the same positive feeling about knowing what to do in
the water and did not panic.
Children of the Sea has exhibited a high level of
integrity throughout the six years we have been swimming there.
From canceling lessons at a loss to them if water conditions did not
meet the highest standards, to crediting my account when my child
hit a phase prohibiting progress in learning to swim. We spend
much of our spare time in and around pools and boats and are very
pleased our children have become comfortable, competent, and
conscientious around deep water.
I feel this group is an asset to our community and
applaud the effort of all individuals involved with the school as
they take groups of small children and convert them to safety
conscious small fish.
Sincerely, Sheila
It is said, "Once you have a good thing you should
never let it go." When you have that "good thing" you are
willing to sacrifice for it and fight to keep it. That is how
I feel about Children of the Sea Swim School. It has been 2
full years (6 swim sessions) since my daughter began taking lessons.
I am a single mother and I strive to make sure my daughter receives
the very best from me and from what I can provide for her. My
daughter is unique in that she has special needs. She has
eluded doctors as to what her true diagnosis should be. It has
been said to be anything from Austin, Developmental Delay,
Communication Disorder, ADHD, and Receptive Processing Disorder, the
list goes on. I was at a loss as to how to help her. I
wanted her to start learning how to swim and after taking the
HORRIBLE high school classes offered in my district I thought she
would end up afraid of water forever.
My salvation came one afternoon while watching TV
with my daughter. I saw the Children of the Sea Swim School
commercial on TV. I called and researched it and decided to
give it a try. For a single mom the prices of the classes were
more than I could afford at the time but you make the sacrifices
when you want to provide the best for your child. In the end
they proved to be priceless and worth far more then I paid.
Lynne and Sara immediately welcomed me and offered to help in anyway
possible to make this experience safe and comfortable for my
daughter as well as my bank account.
My daughter went from being afraid to put her head
under water to beginning stroke that she will take this upcoming
fall session in just two years. If you knew my daughter, you
would understand how much of a milestone and a miracle that really
is. She would not be where she is today without the help of
all the COTS instructors, but teacher James is the one who has made
her feel the most confident and comfortable in the water. He
has always had patience and a calm demeanor with her in the pool and
trust me there were times I am sure she tried that patience.
Without fail every lesson he has been there for her and taken her
far beyond even what I expected her to do. Thank you James!!
Her swimming lessons at Children of the Sea have
helped her development both in and out of the pool. THANK YOU
Children of the Sea from the bottom of my swimmingly happy heart!!

My child began at Children of the Sea
classes when he was 10 months old. He has always enjoyed the water.
Now, at age four, he is very comfortable in the water. He can float
on his back and is beginning to learn swim strokes. It's wonderful
for me as a parent to be able to know that my child is water safe.

We started with Lynne at Children of
the Sea when my son was one 1 ½ years old. We had been in other
parent/baby swim lessons, but none that could even compare to this
program. It took no time before my child was comfortable in the
water. This program emphasizes water safety first in a way that
makes it fun and enjoyable for the children. Before you know it,
the children are doing extensive under water work, sit dives, back
floats, etc… and loving every minute of it.

Taylor began his
first swim lessons when he was almost three. He was very fearful
of the water and very temperamental. Lynne Zavrski was extremely
patient and nurturing. I am convinced that, had it not been for the
loving guidance he received, he would not be swimming today. He is
four now and working on strokes, can swim through four hoops under
water, is picking up rings on the bottom of the pool and, most
importantly, he is completely relaxed and at ease in the water.
Carter at age 2 ½ , after watching Taylor, was very excited to
begin. He has been fearless and thoroughly enjoys his time at the
school. He is so excited to come to his lessons.
